Trial Information
Summary: Lupus Nephritis - Adults and Minors
People with Lupus Nephritis (LN) are asked to participate in a
research study being conducted by the Feinstein Institute for
Medical Research.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if
you:
- Are 16 years of age or older
- Have a diagnosis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE) along
with nephritis related to lupus
- Have had a kidney biopsy performed within 12 months
You may not participate in this study if
you:
- Have kidney disease unrelated to SLE (i.e. diabetes,
renovascular disease whether or not related to antiphospholipid
syndrome)
- Have received MMF, CTX or azathioprine within the past 6
months
- Have received methotrexate within 2 weeks prior to screening or
pulse IV steroids within 30 days of screening
- Have received abatacept, rituximab, belimumab, or other B-cell
modulating agent
- Had a kidney transplant
- Have an infection requiring hospitalization
- Are HIV positive or have Hepatitis B or C
- Have a history of tuberculosis infection without treatment in
the past year
- Have been diagnosis or have a family history of
Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD)
- Have a history of heart disease, cancer, or abnormal blood
count
- Have a planned major surgery during the trial period
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant
during the study
- Have taken another experimental drug within the last 12
months
- Have participated in another research study within the last 30
days
- Have received any type of vaccination within 30 days of study
participation.
- Have a condition such as asthma or inflammatory bowel disease
that requires the use of corticosteroids
