Summary: Evaluation of the safety and tolerability of GSK163090 at single and repeat doses in subjects with MDD.

Study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of an investigational medication at single and repeat doses in individuals with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

Patient Inclusion Criteria

• Male or females age 18 - 65
• Diagnosis of depression.
• Non-smoker or light (<10 cigarettes per day) smoker.
• Able to complete 10 overnight stays in our inpatient facility.

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

• History of drug or alcohol abuse.
• History of hepatitis.
