Summary: An Open Label, Single Arm, Phase 2 Study of Carfilzomib in Patients with Relapsed and Refractory Multiple Myeloma
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have a hematological malignancy (cancer of the blood) called multiple myeloma. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational (not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)) drug called carfilzomib in subjects with multiple myeloma who have previously received the medication bortezomib with either thalidomide or lenalidomide. Your treatment on this study is expected to last at least 2 months (two 4-week cycles of treatment). You will continue to receive treatment for as long as you continue to do well on the medication for up to 12 total cycles. After your treatment on this study is over, your medical condition will continue to be followed for a minimum of 4 weeks.
