Trial Information
Summary: Primary Immune Deficiency Disorder (PIDD) - Adults and minors
People with primary immune deficiency disorder (PIDD) are asked
to participate in a research study being conducted by Montefiore
Medical Center.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if
you:
- Are between the ages of 6 and 75
- Have been diagnosed with chronic primary immune deficiency
disorder (PIDD)
- Are currently on IGIV replacement therapy at a fixed interval
and dosage with a total monthly infusion of IgG between 300 and 800
mg/kg that has been unchanged for at least 3 months
You may not participate in this study if
you:
- Have a known history of significant adverse reactions to other
IgG or blood products
- Have a history of allergic reaction to products containing IgA
or have a history of antibodies to IgA
- Have a history of kidney failure
- Have a known history or current diagnosis of deep venous
thrombosis (blood clots)
- Have chronic lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma,
HIV infection, AIDS or chronic or recurrent neutropenia
- Current use of daily corticosteroids, such as prednisone
- Have known non-controllable arterial hypertension
- Have anemia
- Have an active viral or bacterial infection or symptoms
consistent with such an infection within the two weeks prior to
study start
- Have a history of illegal drug use within 3 months prior to
study start
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant
during the study
- Have participated in another research study within the last 30
days
