Trial Information
Summary: Memory Disorders Registry
Dementia is a group of symptoms that affect areas of the brain
important for memory, speech, daily functioning, mood, and behavior
causing irreversible cognitive decline. Often, the symptomatology
and known pathology of age-associated memory disorders are very
difficult to diagnose and treat through routine laboratory testing.
This research study is a long-term, observational patient outcome
registry that will collect data in patients with diagnosed memory
disorders as well as in those patients with concerns that they may
have a memory disorder in order to examine the predictors of
treatment outcomes.
When subjects seek care for a memory disorder at Cedars-Sinai,
they will receive standard care procedures regardless of
participation in study. These standard procedures include lab
tests, MRI scan, PET scan, and neuropsychological testing to be
charged to insurance. Following initial assessments, subjects
wishing to participate in the registry will be asked to return for
clinical follow-up visits. In addition, the research team requires
the ability to access subject medical records and keep information
on file regarding medical visits related to memory disorders. There
will be no monetary compensation for participation in this
registry.
