Summary: Delineation of Causative Mutations in Hemophilia B
Patient/Relative with Acquired Hemophilia
You/your child are invited to participate in this research study because you/your child were diagnosed with acquired hemophilia or you/your child are related to someone who has acquired hemophilia. The purpose of this study is to identify the change in the genetic material which leads to acquired hemophilia and utilize this information to obtain insight into the process by which genetic changes (mutations in DNA) enter the egg or sperm and are passed from generation to generation. Participation will last as long as it takes to draw you/your child's blood.
Patient/Relative with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
You/your child are invited to participate in this research study because you/your child were/was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) or you/your child are related to someone who has DMD. The purpose of this study is to identify the change in the genetic material which leads to DMD and utilize this information to obtain insight into the process by which genetic changes (mutations in DNA) enter the egg or sperm and are passed from generation to generation. Participation will last as long as it takes to draw your/your child's blood.
Patient/Relative with Hemophilia A
You/your child are invited to participate in this research study because you/your child were/was diagnosed with hemophilia A or you/your child are related to someone who has hemophilia A. The purpose of this study is to identify the change in the genetic material which leads to hemophilia A and utilize this information to obtain insight into the process by which genetic changes (mutations in DNA) enter the egg or sperm and are passed from generation to generation. Participation will last as long as it takes to draw your/your child's blood. Patient/Relative with Hemophilia B
You/your child are invited to participate in this research study because you/your child were/was diagnosed with hemophilia B or you/your child are related to someone who has hemophilia B. The purpose of this study is to identify the change in the genetic material which leads to hemophilia B and utilize this information to obtain insight into the process by which genetic changes (mutations in DNA) enter the egg or sperm and are passed from generation to generation.
