Trial Information
Summary: An Open Label Phase I/II Study of Safety and Efficacy of Perifosine and Bortezomib with or without Dexamethasone for Patients with Relapsed or Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma Previously Treated with Bortezomib
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have multiple myeloma that has either relapsed (come back) or not responded to previous treatment. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the investigational drug Perifosine combined with bortezomib in the treatment of multiple myeloma. Your treatment on this study is expected to last up to 96 days, depending on how your disease responds. If you complete the 8 cycles, your disease is not worsening on perifosine and bortezomib and you do not have any intolerable side effects, then you may continue to receive the study treatment at your doctor’s discretion. After your treatment on this study is over, your medical condition will be followed for eight weeks.
