Trial Information

Summary: A Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacogenomic Study of Patients with High-Grade Gliomas Receiving Daily Radiation Therapy and Temozolomide

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have a brain tumor called a high-grade glioma and you will be receiving radiation therapy (RT) and temozolomide (TMZ) as standard of care.  The purpose of this study is to learn whether levels of temozolomide in the blood over time and levels of certain proteins that process temozolomide can predict development of low platelet counts (low amounts of cells in the blood that help with clotting and prevent bleeding) during treatment with RT and TMZ.  Another purpose is to see how differences in genes relate to developing low platelet counts.  Your participation in this study is expected to last until about 1 month after the completion of RT (about 10 weeks from the start of RT) or until a low platelet count gets better, whichever is longer.
