Trial Information
Summary: Feasibility Evaluation of a Modified Blood Glucose Control Algorithm
You are being asked to take part in this research study because you have type 1 diabetes. The purpose of this study is to evaluate an experimental device called the Medtronic external Physiologic Insulin Delivery (ePID) system. The ePID system uses periodic measurements from a subcutaneous (under the skin) glucose (sugar) sensor, an algorithm (calculation) to determine when the pump should deliver insulin. The study will also compare two algorithms. Your participation in this study will be for a maximum of six months including a screening visit of approximately 2 hours, two three-day outpatient Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS) study, and two inpatient ePID (closed-loop) study over 2 days and 2 nights (approximately 44 hours)
