Trial Information

Summary: SWOG S0424: Molecular Epidemiology Case-Series Study of NSCLC in Smoking and Non-Smoking Women and Men

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). This is an observational research study that does not involve treatment.    The purpose of this study is to determine why women are more likely to be diagnosed with certain types of lung cancer than men are, and to see if factors other than smoking may put women at higher risk of lung cancer than men.  We also want to understand what factors are associated with lung cancer in men and women who do not smoke.   Your participation in this study is expected to last for the time it will take to fill out the questionnaire and give a sample of your blood (not more than about two weeks).  Your doctors will continue to collect information about your health status annually for this study for up to 5 years from the time you enter this study.
