Summary: Depression

The UCLA MDRP team is interested in understanding and improving the treatment for those who live with depression. Our team will compare two drugs that have been shown to be helpful for treating depression, but have not been studied specifically in bipolar II depression.

The study involves:

  • 13 study visits
  • Psychiatric History
  • Questionnaires
  • Free treatmene for 16 weeks with antidepressant(s)
  • Labratory Tests
  • You may be compensated up to $325.00 plus parking


Inclusion Criteria: You may participat if you:

  • Are 18-65 years of age
  • Have been depressed for at least 2 weeks and in the past you have had the following symptoms for at least 3 days in a row, but not for more than a week at a time:
    • Increased self esteem (feelings of overconfidence)
    • Decreased need for sleep
    • Increased talkativeness
    • Thoughts jumping from topic to topic
    • Too many ideas to keep track of
