Summary: Sepsis- Adults

People coming to the Emergency Department with symptoms similar to sepsis are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by North Shore University Hospital.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Exhibit two or more of any of the diagnostic criteria for sepsis

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Are already a hospital in-patient
  • Have had a cardiac arrest within the past month
  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant during the study
  • Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
