Summary: Are you a current or former smoker who has been diagnosed with emphysema or chronic bronchitis?

RESEARCH STUDY FOR CURRENT OR FORMER SMOKERS

If you are a current or former smoker and you can answer yes to one or more of the following:

• Your breathing has worsened over time
• You have a "smoker’s cough"
• You have a harder time completing your normal activities compared to non-smokers your age
• You have been diagnosed with emphysema or chronic bronchitis

If so, you may be eligible to participate in a research study.

You may be eligible to participate in a research study if:

• You are at least 40 years old
• You have been a smoker for AT LEAST the equivalent of 20 years at 1 pack/day
• You are generally healthy or have controlled medical conditions
• You have not had cancer in the past 5 years, except for basal cell skin cancer
• You do not work the night shift

You will receive research-related medical attention, breathing tests, investigational medication, and testing at no cost to you. Weekend appointments are available.

Compensation up to $1530 for completing the study.
