Summary: Clinical trial to test a study drug in HIV treatment
This study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a new integrase
inhibitor (in an expanded access program [EAP]) with FuzeonŽ
(enfuvirtide) in people infected with HIV-1 who have already been
treated with medicines from three other HIV drug classes.
To qualify, you must:
- Be positive for HIV-1
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be enrolled in an expanded access program for an integrase
inhibitor
- Have received treatment for the HIV-1 virus
- Have a viral load higher than 1,000 copies/mL within the past
month
- Be able to self-inject the study drug twice a day, or have a
reliable care giver who is willing, able and available to assist
you with this for the duration of the study
You will not qualify if you:
- Are pregnant or breast-feeding
- Have participated in a clinical trial within the last 30
days
