Trial Information
Summary: People with Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have been diagnosed with metastatic or recurrent head and neck
squamous cell carcinoma
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Progressed within 6 months of curative treatment for
localized/locally advanced disease
- Were treated with any other anti-cancer or any investigational
drugs during the last four weeks
- Have received more than two (2) cytotoxic therapies (any kind
of anti-cancer therapy, e.g., chemotherapy, immunotherapy,
radiotherapy) for recurrent/metastatic disease
- Have nasopharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas
- Have a history of other malignancies (except for appropriately
treated superficial basal cell skin cancer and surgically cured
cervical cancer) unless free of disease for at least 3 years
- Have a history of decompensated heart failure (where the heart
progressively loses the ability to pump blood)
- Have an active infectious disease
- Have a gastrointestinal disorder or chronic diarrhea
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant
during the study
