Summary: Metastatic Colorectal Carcinoma - Adults

People with cancer of the rectum or colon that has spread to other areas of your body are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Fernando J. Camacho, MD (Private Practice).

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have surgically incurable, metastatic disease from proven colon or rectal adenocarcinoma
  • Have no prior general chemotherapy or immunotherapy for metastatic or advanced local disease

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Have any prior exposure to bevacizumab (Avastin)
  • Have had radiation therapy within the last 6 weeks
  • Have a history of CNS metastasis, or other brain tumor, or history of stroke
  • Have had major surgery, open biopsy, or significant traumatic injury within 4 weeks
  • Have inadequate bone marrow, liver or kidney function
  • Have had a heart attack, cerebral bleeding or cardiac stent placement within 12 months
  • Have significant cardiovascular disease
  • Have presence of serious non-healing wounds, gastro-duodenal ulcers, skin ulcers or bone fractures
  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant during the study
  • Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
