Summary: CA180004: A Phase I Study of Dasatinib (BMS-354825) and Capecitabine for Advanced Breast Cancer
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have advanced breast cancer. The purpose of this study is to learn about the side effects of dasatinib in combination with capecitabine in women with advanced breast cancer and to decide the best dose and schedule to be used with these drugs for further study. Researchers will also look at genes in tumor and blood specimens to see whether response to treatment can be predicted and to see if the genes change over time. Researchers will also take blood samples so to see the drug’s effect on the body. Your treatment on this study is expected to last for as long as your cancer is not growing and you are not having any unmanageable side effects. After your treatment on this study is over, your medical condition will be followed indefinitely.
