Summary: Volunteers needed for acute Hereditary Angioedema Attack research studies.

The purpose is to determine the safety and efficacy (how well it works) of an experimental drug, DX-88 (ecallantide), when used to treat angioedema attacks. Eligible patients will receive study medication, study-related medical care and testing at no charge.

EDEMA4 is only 1 research treatment and you will have a 50/50 chance of getting drug or placebo. After you receive treatment in this study, you can continue to receive treatment in the Continuation study. If you don’t qualify for the EDEMA4 trial, you may be eligible for the Continuation study without enrolling in EDEMA4.

To be eligible for the studies you must:

  • Have been previously diagnosed with acute Hereditary Angioedema.
