Summary: New prevention medication trial for migraine sufferers

A study to test two different doses of a new oral migraine prevention medicine (Lacosamide)against placebo to decrease frequency of migraines.

Patient Inclusion Criteria

  • 18-65 years of age
  • 2-8 migraine episodes per month
  • No more than 15 headache days per month in last two months
  • Not using headache treatment medication more than twice per week in last two months must be able to discontinue current prevention medications, but not abortive/acute medications

Patient Exclusion Criteria

  • more than 15 headache days per month in either of prior two months.
  • use of migraine treatment medication more than twice per week in either of last two months.
