Summary: FIR TREE Lymphedema Study - Flexitouch® Intensive Randomized Trial to Reduce Edematous Extremities
We are seeking volunteers to participate in a clinical study to
compare the Flexitouch® Lymphedema System, with the Lymphapress
system
Qualified participants must have:
- Life expectancy greater than six months
- Stage II or III unilateral, upper or lower extremity lymphedema
as a result of surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation. (Diagnosis
and stage of lymphedema must be confirmed by a certified lymphedema
therapist from the Lymphedema Treatment Center.
- Edema of the affected limb must have at least a 10% excess
volume over the unaffected limb
- Age 18 years of age or older
Qualified participants will be provided with study related
examinations, services and equipment during the 6-month study.
16 study participants will use the Flexitouch ® Lymphedema
System, and 16 study participants use the Lymphapress system in the
home. Participation in the study is free of charge.
