Trial Information
Summary: Cystic Fibrosis - Adults
People with cystic fibrosis are asked to participate in a
research study being conducted by Long Island Jewish Medical
Center.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if
you:
- Are male or female at least 16 years of age
- Have confirmed diagnosis of cystic fibrosis
- Have no evidence of acute upper or lower respiratory tract
infection within 28 days prior to visit 1
You may not participate in this study if you
have:
- Used any nebulized or systemic antibiotics within 28 days prior
to visit 1, other than maintenance oral azithromycin
- A history of intolerance with aerosol medication
- A history of allergy to fluoroquinolones
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- A history of seizures or low seizure threshold
- Current or previous infection with HIV (human immunodeficiency
virus)
- Any evidence of, or are known carrier of Hepatitis C
antibody
- Participated in another research study within the last 30
days
- Or, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become
pregnant during the study
