Summary: Cystic Fibrosis - Adults

People with cystic fibrosis are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Are male or female at least 16 years of age
• Have confirmed diagnosis of cystic fibrosis
• Have no evidence of acute upper or lower respiratory tract infection within 28 days prior to visit 1

You may not participate in this study if you have:

• Used any nebulized or systemic antibiotics within 28 days prior to visit 1, other than maintenance oral azithromycin
• A history of intolerance with aerosol medication
• A history of allergy to fluoroquinolones
• Uncontrolled diabetes
• A history of seizures or low seizure threshold
• Current or previous infection with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)
• Any evidence of, or are known carrier of Hepatitis C antibody
• Participated in another research study within the last 30 days
• Or, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant during the study
