Summary: Molecular Epidemiology of Human Disease

You/your child are/is sending samples for clinical testing by the City of Hope Clinical Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory for one of diseases in the panel above.  If there is sample remaining after the clinical testing is complete, you/your child are/is invited to participate in a research study because:

1.  You/your child have/has, or are/is at risk for one of the genetic diseases listed above, or

2.  You/your child are/is related to someone who is at risk for one of the diseases listed above. 

The purpose of this study is to obtain insight into the process by which genetic mutations (changes in DNA) occur in people.  In addition, we wish to understand how mutations in DNA cause specific diseases.
