Trial Information

Summary: People with chronic hepatitis B are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by North Shore University Hospital.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Are at least 18 years of age
• Have chronic hepatitis B

You may not participate in this study if you:

• Have previously taken nucleoside or nucleotide analogue antiviral drugs (for example, adefovir, entecavir, famciclovir, tenoforvir, telbivudine, clevudine or emtracitabine)
• Have been treated with interferon or other immuno-stimulators in the last 24 weeks
• Have HIV, hepatitis C or hepatitis D
• Are pregnant, breastfeeding or intend to become pregnant during the study
• Have a history of pancreatitis
