Trial Information
Summary: Effect of 7 Days of Exogenous Pulsatile GnRH Treatment on the Pitoutary-Gonadal Axis in Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadal Subjects
Men with idiopathic hyopgoandotropic hypogoandism (IHH) adn Kallmann syndrome (KS)have a defect in Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH). The purpose of the research study is to replace GnRH and examine the response of the pituitary (a gland in the brain) to the treatment. The information learned from this study will help us to better understand the response to treatment as well as to define subsets of IHH.
In this study, men 18 and older with IHH/KS have a detailed evaluation which involves an overnight stay at the hospital and outpatient visits for one week. Some men may continue on to receive treatement with pulsatile GnRH. This treatment replaces the hormone lacking in IHH men and long term treatment typically results in normalized testosterone levels and fertility.
Eligibility Criteria: Men 18+ years diangosed with IHH or KS
