Summary: A clinical research study looking for patients who have been diagnosed with Type 1 or 2 Diabetes, experiencing painful neuropathy for 6 months to 10 years.

This study is evaluating the effectiveness of 3 different dose levels of an investigational drug compared to placebo.

Study inclusion / exclusion criteria

• Age 18+
• Diagnosed with Type 1 or 2 Diabetes
• Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy confirmed by Neurological exam with symmetrical onset between 6 months and 10 years
• No amputations that may affect the assessment of pain associated with DPN
• No history of drug or alcohol abuse
• Not pregnant or breastfeeding
