Trial Information
Summary: SWOG S0536 "A phase II trial of combination carboplatin, paclitaxel, cetuximab and bevacizumab (NSC-704865) followed by cetuximab and bevacizumab in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer"
The purpose of this study is to find out what effects, ggo
and/or bad; carboplatin, paclitaxel, cetuximab and bevacizumab have
the patient and the lung cancer. The main purpose is to learn
abouth the safety of this combination.
Patient Inclusion Criteria
- Patients must have histologically or cytologically proven newly
diagnosed selected Stage IIIB (T4 lesion due to malignant pleural
effusion) or stage IV advanced primary non-small cell lung
cancer.
- Prior radiation is permitted however at least three weeks must
have elapsed since completion.
- At least four weeks must have elapsed since surgery.
Patient Exclusion Criteria
- Patients with known brain metastases are not eligible.
- Patients must not have received any prior systemic chemotherapy
or biologic therapy.
