Trial Information

Summary: How do UC Life?

We understand that living with ulcerative colitis can feel like you are living in your bathroom, especially when your disease symptoms flare up.

If you or someone you know has ulcerative colitis (UC), you may be interested in learning more about a 6-week clinical research study evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational dose of mesalamine.

Those who meet the eligibility requirements will join the more than 400 volunteers who will participate in this study at 150 medical offices in 15 countries.

You may be eligible if you are 18 to 75 years old and are experiencing active UC symptoms (flare of symptoms). All study-related procedures and medications will be provided to you at no cost.

As a study participant, you will be asked to:

  • Attend four study visits during a 6-week period
  • Take the study medication each day, and
  • Have blood tests and study-related physical and clinical exams

Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two study groups to test two doses of the study medication.

If you would like more information about this study currently underway in your area, please contact us at 866-788-3940 (toll free) or visit us at www.ascendUCstudy.com. If you or your physician is considering changes in your current treatment, please contact us to see if you may be eligible to participate.

If your UC is not currently in flare, I hope you will consider participating in the ASCEND II study if your status changes.
