Trial Information

Summary: Hot Flashes, Night Sweats, Power Surges, Personal Summer... Wish they would just go away?

If so, you are not alone!

A women’s health study is being conducted to research a Anon-hormonal investigational drug to help control HOT FLASHES and NIGHT SWEATS.

Q: Who can participate?

A: You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are at least 40 years of age
  • Have had your last menstrual period at least 6 months ago
  • Have multiple moderate to severe hot flashes each week
  • Are prepared not to take or use hormone replacement therapy or anti-depressants during the 12-week study

Q: How can I find out if I qualify?

A: If you are interested in this study, please contact our clinic to discuss the study procedures, risks and possible benefits of the study. If you meet the initial screening criteria, you will be invited to come to our clinic for a screening visit. At that visit, you will be asked some questions concerning your medical history and post-menopausal symptoms. You will be given a 14-day diary to fill out, describing your hot flash frequency and severity. After that, you may also receive a full physical exam, EKG and blood tests. Your study doctor will then determine if you are eligible for the study.

Q: What happens if I am eligible for this study?

A: You will take study medication daily ( 1 in 7 study participants will receive placebo ), keep a diary of your symptoms and have 7 office visits over 12 weeks. All exams and procedures will be performed without cost to you.
