Summary: SWOG S0528: Phase I Study Evaluating the Combination of Lapatinib (GW572016 NSC-727989, IND-75,093) and Everolimus(RAD001; NSC-733504; IND 75, 093) in Patients with Advanced Solid Tumors

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have advanced cancer that is no longer responding to standard treatment or for which no standard treatment exists.  This study is being conducted to find the best doses for using lapatinib and everolimus together and to test the safety of giving both drugs together in subjects with advanced cancer. In addition the study will also evaluate how each of these drugs is processed in the body when both drugs are given together.   Your treatment on this study is expected to last for as long as your tumor is not growing and you are not having any unmanageable side effects.  After your treatment on this study is over, your medical condition will be followed indefinitely.
