Summary: Two-Stage Breast Reconstruction Post-Mastectomy

North Shore University Hospital and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery are looking for volunteers to participate in a study that involves breast reconstruction after a mastectomy.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Female are at least 18 years of age
  • Desire to undergo immediate breast reconstruction after mastectomy

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Are large breasted (larger than a C cup)
  • Have other significant health problems
  • Have recently received chemo- or radiation therapy to the area
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) of more than 35 (significant obesity), or
  • Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
