Trial Information
Summary: The High-Dose Aldesleukin (IL-2) Select Trial: A Trial Designed to Prospectively Validate Predictive Models of Response to High Dose IL-2 Treatment in Patients with Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have kidney cancer that has spread beyond your kidney and is not curable by surgery. The purpose of this study is to learn more about which types of kidney cancer patients are more likely to benefit from aldesleukin (IL-2, Interleukin-2, a synthetic form of a protein that the body produces naturally that modifies the body’s response to cancer cells.) The treatment on this study is standard, not investigational. In an attempt to identify factors that predict response to aldesleukin, the study doctors will collect subject information, blood and tumor samples prior to treatment and tumor measurements after treatment. Your participation in this study is expected to last up to 40 weeks. When treatment is complete, your medical condition will be followed indefinitely.
