General Information
Trivagizole 3 is a three-day over-the-counter topical cream approved for the treatment of vaginal yeast infections. (Its active ingredient, clotrimazole, is also indicated for the treatment of jock itch, athlete's foot, thrush infections of the esophagus and mouth and candida of the scrotum and anus.)
Side Effects
Few to no side effects are experienced with topical treatment. However, sexual partners may experience minor skin irritation due to exposure to the medication. To prevent this, refrain from sex during treatment or have male partners use condoms.
Other instructions:
- Change clothing in contact with the infected area after each application
- Use the preparation at bedtime for maximum contact with mucous membranes
- Lie down for at least 30 minutes following treatment
- Use sanitary napkins to prevent staining of clothing or bedding
If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to compensate.
