Through clinical research, investigators achieve advances in medicine and bring potential innovative therapies to patients at Baylor Health Care System facilities.
Baylor Health Care System recruits leading physicians and scientists to enhance its scientific base and provide advanced patient therapies. Research keeps physicians on the forefront of medical knowledge. Investigators at Baylor Research Institute publish research findings in top-tier medical journals, such as Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, Transplantation and Lancet. Baylor Health Care System also publishes Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings, a quarterly research journal detailing research and clinical activities at Baylor.
The institute staffs approximately 280 employees, including researchers, laboratory assistants and research coordinators. Michael Ramsay, M.D., serves as president of the Baylor Research Institute, and Bernard Brigonnet is chief operating officer.
