Bayou City Research Corporation is a private facility devoted
entirely to full-time research in the areas of psychiatry,
psychology, neurology and endocrinology. The studies are supported
in part by the extensive private practice of its Principal
Investigator, Matthew N. Brams, M.D., as well as from sources both
private and public. Research patients who enter the trials receive
on-going medical monitoring, medication and long-term follow up
through the practice.
For more than 12 years, Principal Investigator, Matthew N. Brams, MD has directed Phase I-IV psychiatric clinical trials for many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. He is Board Certified in Child and Adult Psychiatry.
Through a network of referring physicians, Bayou City Research has built a robust and comprehensive patient database for assembling ideal populations to meet sponsors’ goals. Dr. Bram’s rigorous standards have continued to attract a global roster of sponsors who recognize his commitment to patient care and exacting execution of clinical trial protocols.
We strive to educate and nurture our volunteers so that they maintain a healthy lifestyle and complete each study. Volunteers are thoroughly screened to match all research inclusion/exclusion criteria and carefully followed throughout the entire study period by highly trained research professionals.
Bayou City Researchhas a 5000+ sq.ft. facility dedicated to and designed for clinical research. Our facility provides examination rooms; double-locking, limited access temperature controlled medication storage; draw/processing laboratory with dedicated sample storage units; ECG equipment; and high-speed Internet access to support Electronic Data Capture activities. We also have an analog classroom dedicated for the purpose of studying subjects with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Bayou City Research is located in Houston, easily accessible to Downtown, and near the Galleria, Greenway Plaza and other highly concentrated areas of population. It is just off Memorial Drive, close to the 610 loop and public transportation. Ample free parking is available.
The facility is near both psychiatric hospitals and general hospitals.
Matthew N. Brams, M.D.
Psychiatrist - Board Certified in Adult and Child
Principal Investigator
Dr. Brams has been a practicing psychiatrist for 11 years in
Houston. In addition to his private practice, he is Director of
Consult-Liaison Services at Ben Taub General Hospital. Dr. Brams is
also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor School of
Medicine. He brings experience to research from many population
groups.
Our staff consists of a diverse group of highly educated and dedicated clinical research professionals. Our Clinical Research Coordinatorshave several years of clinical trial experience and together have conducted over 105 clinical trials in all phases of drug development. Bayou City Research is dedicated to quality patient care and data collection.
