Facility Description

Radiant Research-Birmingham occupies a 4,000 square foot dedicated research facility on the Brookwood Medical Center campus. It is located within a 10-minute drive of all major roadways. The Birmingham International Airport (BHM) is approx. four miles from the site.

Investigator Experience

Gordon Connor, MD, Principal Investigator, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Connor graduated from Emory University School of Medicine and has an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He maintains an active practice. Dr. Connor has conducted more than 250 studies over the past 11 years in a variety of areas including: allergic rhinitis, bronchitis, chronic pain, constipation, COPD, coronary artery disease, diabetes, erectile dysfunction, female sexual dysfunction, dyspepsia, endometrial hyperplasia, gout, healthy, heartburn, genital herpes, herpes-labialis, hypertension, incontinence, irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia, lipids, metabolic syndrome, menopause, obesity, onychomycosis, nocturia, ovulatory menorrhagia, migraine, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, premature ejaculation, rheumatoid arthritis, sinusitis, stuttering, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, vaginal atrophy, uterine leiomyomata, vaginitis and vaccines..

Chivers Woodruff, Jr., MD, PhD, Principal Investigator, is Board Certified in Family Practice and has a PhD in Pharmacology. Dr. Woodruff graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and operated a private practice for almost 30 years. He has published a number of scientific papers and articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Woodruff is a Medical Director at numerous nursing homes. Over the past four years, he has conducted studies in the following areas:
chronic pain, COPD, coronary artery disease, diabetes, erectile dysfunction, female sexual dysfunction, dyspepsia, gout, healthy, heartburn, hypertension, incontinence, insomnia, lipids, metabolic syndrome, menopause, obesity, onychomycosis, nocturia, ovulatory menorrhagia, migraine, osteoarthritis, premature ejaculation, stuttering, tinea cruris, vaginal atrophy and vaccines.

Jo Lynne Herzog, MD, Principal Investigator, is Board Certified in Dermatology. Dr. Herzog graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has an active Dermatology practice. Over the past seven years, she has conducted studies in the following areas:
acne vulgaris, actinic keratosis, atopic dermatitis, cosmetic fillers, herpes-labialis, molluscum contagiosum, onychomycosis, psoriasis, rosacea, seborhheic dermatitis, skin irritation, tinea capitis, tinea pedis and tinea versicolor.

Jimmy Nunis, MD, Principal Investigator, is Board Certified in Dermatology. Dr. Nunis graduated from the University of Alabama College of Medicine and operated a private practice for 30 years. Beginning in 2009, he has conducted studies in the following areas:
acne vulgaris, atopic dermatitis, rosacea, tinea cruris and tinea pedis.
