James T. Barker, M.D. is an award winning psychiatrist from Hickory, NC. He was chief Resident of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. He received his doctorate from Marshall University School of Medicine, Board certified in Psychiatry. Dr. Barker is a renowned speaker for major pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Barker has over 8 years research experience and has been with NHCR since 2009 working on CNS studies in Mental health.
Zaheer Khan, M.D., MRCP, MRCPI is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Khan is the founder of the Center for Aging (and Balance Studio) in Huntsville, Alabama, where he has had an established geriatric practice since 1999. Additionally, Dr. Khan formed a community based fall prevention program. Dr. Khan serves as the Director of Medication Education at Oakwood University and the Director of the ACE (Acute Care for the Elderly) Unit at Crestwood Hospital, in Huntsville. Dr. Khan has expanded his Center for Aging to the Charlotte area and has been an investigator with NHCR for 2-years and specializes in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Kurian Abraham, M.D. Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Abraham is a researcher in Alzheimer’s disease and other central nervous system disorders. Dr. Abraham has a Duke/GlaxoSmithKline psychopharmacology research fellowship. He has over 15 years of clinical trial experience and has contributed in the clinical trials for all current medication available in the market for Alzheimer’s disease. Our research site was selected as the only site from North Carolina to be involved in a pivotal study for Alzheimer’s disease sponsored by a major pharmaceutical company. In
addition, Dr. Abraham volunteers his time to treat mental illness at the largest men’s shelter in Charlotte. Dr. Abraham has been an investigator with NHCR for 3 years.
Eric Semeko, M.D. Board Certified in Psychiatry, attended Volgograd Medical School and Received his residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Semeko is a HealthGrades Recognized Doctor. Dr. Semeko has been involved with several research studies, including Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Depression, Alzheimer's since 2004 and has been with NHCR since 2011.
Tammy Rader, MBA, CCRC has been involved in pharmaceutical clinical research for over 13 years and in the healthcare field since 1992. Ms. Rader has helped develop many research centers and has held many responsible positions at various research organizations. Ms. Rader is the founder and CEO of New Hope Clinical Research and Services, based in Charlotte with an office in Hickory, NC.
Janine Jolly, RN, CRC has been with NHCR since 2009. Her previous experience includes working as a psychiatric care nurse at Broughton Mental Hospital and Catawba Valley Medical Center. She has over 7 years of psychiatric nursing experience. Janine is a board certified psychiatric nurse. Her current research experience includes Phase II-III studies, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's and IBS-d and is certified as a Psychometric rater for Alzheimer's studies.
Melissa Whiting, RN, CRC has been with NHCR since 2011. Melissa has over 5 years of psychiatric care nursing at Catawba Valley Medical Center and has ACLS certification. Her current research experience includes Phase III studies; Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's and IBS-d. She is a study drug manager and is experienced with blinded studies and will be sitting for the CCRC exam in 2013.
Selina Olomua, RN, CRC has been with NHCR since 2011. Selina has over 8 years of patient care. Her current research experience includes Phase III studies; Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's and IBS-d. She is a study drug manager and is experienced with blinded studies.
Krystal Pavone, CMA, CRC has been with NHCR since August 2012. She has several years of patient care experience and aspires to continue her education to be come an RN. Her current research experience includes Phase III studies; Schizophrenia, IBS-d.
Charlotte has a population of approximately 800,000. Our area has two major top ranking hospitals in NC and they are only 2 blocks from our office. The population is varied in race, education levels and demographics.
