Worldwide Clinical Trials
The Margolin Brain Institute, which opened in April, 2000,
occupies 5,000 square ft. in a custom-designed, single story,
state-of-the-art office building in Northeast Fresno. The staff
utilizes a comprehensive, computerized, clinical trial data
management system, which simultaneously records and organizes
patient demographics, schedules patients according to individual
study protocols, and tracks patient visits and procedures. The
system runs on a Windows 2000 LAN network, which also supports all
Microsoft Office 2000 programs.

Clinical Trials Supervisor
20 years experience in clinical research
In addition to J.J. Margolin, who has collaborated with Dr.
Margolin on over 100 clinical trials during the past 20 years,
there are usually 4 clinical coordinators on staff.
This site is the main neuroscience clinical trials center in
Central California. This nine-county region has a population of
about 3 million. Fresno County alone, with about 1,000,000 residents,
is more populous than San Francisco County. The Central
Valley's population of people 55 and older (280,000 in 2000) is
growing rapidly.
This site operates independent of any larger bureaucracy thus
eliminating the administrative delays frequently encountered at
institution-related sites. Contracts can be executed within 24
hours and the site is free to use the IRB of the sponsor's
choice. Several study coordinators have used remote data entry
systems in clinical trials. Many staff members have expertise in
neuropsychological measures currently in use in Alzheimer's
clinical trials including the CIBIC, CDR, ADAS, and NPI.
If you are interested in contacting this center to discuss placing a clinical
trial there, please complete and send the e-mail form below. A representative from
the research center will then follow up with you.
