Nisus Research, a department of McLaren Northern Michigan, is located in Petoskey, Michigan. Since 1984, Nisus Research has been conducting clinical trials for Phase II, Phase III and Phase IIIb/IV drug and device trials. The dedicated and experienced research staff works in collaboration with more than 200 multi-specialty physicians, affiliated with McLaren Northern Michigan.
Nisus Research allows access to new therapies and diagnostics as a unique compliment to the high level of care, offered to patients utilizing this regional referral center.
Nisus Research provides administrative and study coordinator support to physicians in the conduct of clinical trials. These trials interface well with the inpatient and outpatient medical care provided by our experienced physicians.
The name, “Nisus” means to “endeavor or strive”. It was chosen based on the department’s mission to support the good health of area residents, by providing them with a quality research program. To date, Nisus has conducted over 270 clinical trials with more than 2050 volunteer participants.
