Center Overview

Piedmont Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates (PENTA) offers a full range of ear, nose, and throat services including sinus surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, treatment of balance and dizziness disorders, treatment of tinnitus, treatment of voice and swallowing disorders, allergy desensitization, facial plastic surgery, treatment of sleep disorders and snoring and treatment of hearing loss with comprehensive hearing aid sales and service.

There are 8 board certified Physician's with PI and Sub-I experience. Our goal is to advance health care and provide novel therapies for our patients by conducting clinical trials. The practice also owns an outpatient surgical center which is next door to the practice.

Facility Description

Our main office is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We have CT and endoscopy capabilities (one exam room has stroboscopy equipment). We have an allergy and audiology department. We have a blood processing lab with centrifuge. We have temperature monitored secure drug storage rooms including refrigerated drug storage. We have over 18 exam rooms including an office surgical suite. There are 4 exam rooms with floor or ceiling mounted ENT microscopes. There is one room dedicated to our full time licensed aesthetician and several lasers on site (Fractionated laser for facial rejuvenation and hair removal laser). The practice also owns an outpatient surgery center located next door.

Sandra Smith is the Clinical Research Manager and has been working in the industry since 1996. She has been ACRP certified since 2002.

Patient Demographics

The ENT practice has 110,000 patients. The Triad area which includes Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point has an estimated population of 1,603,101. The ENT practice has two regional satellite sites which draw from Southern Virginia as well as Western and North Western North Carolina.
