Blair Medical Associates, is a premier multi-specialty group practice serving the population of Blair and surrounding counties since 1972. Blair Medical Associates is a team of physicians and health care professionals dedicated to providing high quality, cost effective health care. Our purpose is to assist in managing all health care needs in an environment that is responsive to our patients. We provide inpatient and outpatient medical services for the following specialites; Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Podiatry/ Wound Clinic, Psychology, Pulmonology, Urology and a wide variety of diagnostics, clinical trials and preventive services.
The Clinical Trials Department started July 2000 and has grown from one coordinator/regulatory person to a site manager, 5 coordinators, a regulatory specialist, lab tech, patient recruiter and a Medical Director.
All clinical personnel are IATA certified and trained in multiple EDCs.
We do studies that are Phase II through Phase IV in the following areas:
post MI, diabetes mellitus II, hyperlipidemia, migraine, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, pain, Alzheimer's disease, congestive heart failure, COPD, pneumonia, wound care, onychomychosis, DVT, atrial fibrillation, fibromyalgia, cardiovascular diseases.
We have worked with multiple CROs and pharmaceutical sponsors. Some of whom are: PPD, Takeda, Novartis, Quintiles, TIMI, Duke University, Forest Pharmaceuticals, sanofi aventis, GlaxoSmithKline, Endo Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, sankyo, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Abbott, PPD development, Parexel, Premier Research, inc, i3, Pharmanet, INC RESEARCH.
We have a dedicated clinical research department that consists of a locked medicine room with locked cabinets inside the room. 24/7 temperature controlled refrigerators, -20 degree C chest freezer, -70 degree C chest freezer, refrigerated centrifuge, dedicated monitoring room, wireless access for monitoring, electronic medical records. The clinical research offices are locked when the office is closed and have limited access during the work day.
