Center Overview

Urology Health Team is a private practice which, over the past twenty years, has offered patients a complete range of individualized treatments through our cutting edge Urologic Facility and State of the Art Surgery Center. Located in Ocala, Florida, it is comprised of two board certified urologists. Our office is dedicated to providing the best quality care delivered by an attentive medical staff whose mission is treating each and every patient with concern, respect and compassion.

Clinical Research Experience

Urology Health Team has a dedicated research department with extensive experience conducting Phase II through Phase IV trials. Over the past twenty years, Ira Klimberg, MD, has participated as a principal investigator for over two-hundred trials. Urology Health Team has on staff, three sub-investigators; J. Derek Thompson, MD, Roger J. Madore, PA-C, William W. Smith, PA-C and three full time study coordinators, two of which are ACRP certified.

Facility Description

Urology Health Team is located in north, central Florida offering a full service diagnostic and outpatient surgical center managing all aspects of outpatient urologic care. Urology Health Team offers the following testing procedures and equipment on site:

• Eight exam rooms
• Full service outpatient surgical center
• Full X-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound
• CLIA certified laboratory
• Centrifuge
• Phlebotomy
• Electrocardiogram
• Mediwatch Urodyn plus Uroflow
• Bladder Ultrasound
• Transrectal Ultrasound
• Urodynamics
• -80C freezer (24 hour temperature monitoring)
• Secure pharmaceutical storage with refrigerator (24 hour temperature monitoring on both room and refrigerator)
• Monitoring office with high speed internet access, fax, copy and phone available

On staff there is also a Urologic specialty pathologist and radiologist.

We have several hotels and restaurants in the immediate area. Orlando International, Tampa International and Gainesville Regional airports serve our air travel needs.

There are over 600,000 people from varied ethnic backgrounds living in the vicinity of Urology Health Team. The approximate percentage of male to female is 50, with 24% between 45 - 64 years of age and 27% 65 years and older.

Other Information

Our site utilizes a central IRB and have worked with several in the past. We have also worked with numerous central laboratories and have daily Fed-Ex pick up. Our staff is also proficient with numerous versions of paper and electronic CRF?s.
