BRS is located on the Bronson Methodist Hospital (BMH) campus and, as such, is capable of conducting both inpatient and outpatient studies. BMH is the flagship of Bronson Healthcare, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving all of southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. With 404 licensed beds and all private rooms, BMH provides care in a variety of specialties including cardiology, orthopedics, surgery, emergency medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, neurobehavioral, and oncology with advanced capabilities in critical care as a Level I Trauma Center; in neurological care as a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, in cardiac care as the region’s first accredited Chest Pain Emergency Center; in obstetrics as the leading BirthPlace and only high-risk pregnancy center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in southwest Michigan, and in pediatrics as one of only six children’s hospitals in the state of Michigan.
BRS provides secure drug and device storage areas, secure record storage area, refrigerated centrifuge, both -20 and -80 freezers, 12 lead ECG, and blood drawing services. Additional services include private exam rooms, state of the art surgical suites, a certified laboratory and pharmacy, sleep lab and EMG services, as well as radiology services including CT and MRI.

Alain Y. Fabi, MD
Dr. Fabi earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He received his medical degree from Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan and completed his residency training in psychiatry at the University of Connecticut and National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD. He completed a general psychiatry fellowship from the National Institute of Mental Health and Johns Hopkins University and served as staff at the National Institute of Mental Health, Geriatric Psychiatry Branch in Bethesda, MD. He serves as the medical director for the Geropsychiatry Unit and the Memory Clinic for Bronson Lakeview Community Hospital. He has been involved with clinical research since 1988 and has served as a sub-investigator on numerous studies. His research interests are neurodegenerative diseases, biomarkers and novel treatments in Alzheimer’s dementia.

Paul A. Blostein, MD
Dr. Blostein completed his General Surgery residency at Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn, New York and his Trauma Fellowship at Maryland Shock Trauma. Dr. Blostein has been a Trauma Surgeon at Bronson for over twenty years and has served as an investigator in pharmaceutical clinical trials including antibiotics in sepsis, ventilation in respiratory and airway compromise, and severe traumatic brain injury. Among his current research interests are traumatic shock and resuscitation, pelvic fractures, fat embolism syndrome in trauma, Methamphetamine burns and injuries, and small bowel injuries.
Scott B. Davidson, MD
Dr. Davidson completed his General Surgery residency at Wayne State University, is board certified in General Surgery, and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Davidson is the Medical Director of Trauma Surgery Services at Bronson, and also a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve having served in active duty in Iraq in 2008. During that time Dr. Davidson was a co-investigator in several military studies involving resource utilization and trauma resuscitation in multiple casualty incidents, one of which was published in Annals of Surgery. Dr. Davidson has experience as a co-investigator in a pharmaceutical clinical trial in severe traumatic brain injury. He has co-authored several other trauma related studies, and his current research interests include hemorrhagic shock, resuscitation in early shock and burns, military and civilian mass casualty events, and Methamphetamine burns and related injuries.
Sheldon B. Maltz, MD
Dr. Maltz completed his General Surgery residency at Finch University/Chicago Medical School North, and his Critical Care and Trauma Fellowships at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Maltz is board certified in General Surgery and Critical Care, and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Maltz is the Medical Director of Surgical Critical Care at Bronson. He has participated in numerous pharmaceutical clinical trials in critical care including traumatic brain injury, anti-fungal infections, hemorrhagic shock, and sepsis. In addition, he has co-authored numerous articles on trauma related issues.
Jon C. Walsh, MD
Dr. Walsh completed General Surgery residency training at San Joaquin General Hospital, Stockton California and the University of California, San Diego. He was a National Institute of Health Research Fellow at the University of California, Davis and UC-San Diego. Dr. Walsh earned his Masters in Public Health from San Diego State University. He also served as a Commander in the United States Naval Reserve Medical Corps. Dr. Walsh is board certified in General Surgery, and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is a Trauma Surgeon at Bronson, and has 20 years of experience with pharmaceutical clinical trials including spinal cord injury, ischemic reperfusion, hypertonic resuscitation, and severe traumatic brain injury, to name a few.
