Center Background

St. Joseph's Medical Associates provides full compliment of clinical research services.We have a large active patient base ranging from adolescents to seniors. Our area ethnicity demographics include a wide diversity including: Caucasian, Hispanic, African-American, Asian and Phillipino. We place a strong emphasis on quality, integrity and patient care. We have administered trials involving thousands of patients for nationally and internationally recognized pharmaceutical companies.

Our Clinical Trials Research Center was founded in 1995. Our experienced staff is managed by the Principle Investigator and board-certified Medical Director, Shaukat A. Shah, M.D. Dr. Shah also manages a large private, internal medicine practice. We are located in an area of central California with a diverse population base of about 1/2 million people. Our medical practice, offering a full spectrum of primary care services, has a growing patient base from adolescence to seniors. Dr. Shah has made quality clinical research an integral part of the practice. His integrity and compassionate care has earned him the respect of patients, staff, his fellow physicians and the clinical trial community.

St. Joseph's Medical Associates is dedicated to the ethical performance of clinical research studies. Using good clinical practice guidelines, our organization is driven to complete studies in a timely, ethical, and efficient manner. Patient care is our primary focus with a strong commitment to education and advancement of knowledge.

Our experience has been in phase 2, 3 and 4 studies. In almost every study, we have been able to over enroll the number of evaluable patients that the sponsor required. Most of the study participants come from our private practice. Our goals are to achieve rapid enrollment, meet or exceed our enrollment quota and produce quality results.

We focus on all aspects of the clinical trial process, from patient recruitment to final data submission. Our staff are specialized and highly experienced in all aspects of clinical drug and equipment research. We conduct each trial with the highest ethical standards, making patient safety our number one priority.

The research center consists of a 5,760 square foot facility across the street from St. Joseph's Medical Center. We are easily accessible by car and public transportation. Investigator Experience

Shaukat A. Shah M.D. is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Shah has been directing clinical trial research since 1995. He completed his medical education at University of Connecticut, School of medicine; where he performed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. Shah is the Medical Director for St. Joseph’s Medical Associates. Dr Shah has conducted more than 100 studies over the past 15 years in a variety of therapeutic areas.
