The Clinical Trials Office at Reading Hospital

The Clinical Trials Office has been specifically designed to meet the competitive demands of industry-sponsored trials. With investigators from diverse specialties, the clinical trials team serves as the fulcrum for excellent communication and service.

The Institution Review Board at Reading Hospital meets monthly to review new and ongoing studies.

Clinical Research Experience

The staff has been thoroughly trained to negotiate the budgets and contracts, process IRB submissions and continuing reviews, coordinate the trials, process the regulatory paperwork, complete CRF’s, respond to sponsor queries, manage monitoring visits from sponsors, oversee billing process, work with departments and PI’s collaboratively to ensure all study-related needs are being met.

Facility Description

About Reading Hospital

The 600+ bed West Reading facility in scenic Berks County consists of a 22-building complex located on a 36-acre suburban campus. The Hospital’s modern facilities are located throughout the county, and include 20 convenient locations, providing a full range of care to community members.

The Medical Staff exceeds 600 physicians in 50 clinical specialties. The Hospital’s employee family numbers more than 5,900 men and women in both clinical and support services, designating us the largest employer in the county.

A regional referral center for cardiac, cancer, neonatology, behavioral health, and orthopedic services, Reading Hospital perennially ranks among the top four Pennsylvania hospitals in: patient admissions, surgical procedures, emergency care volume, and outpatient services. Our ancillary departments include: nutrition services and dietary counseling; laboratory services; radiology; respiratory therapy; speech and hearing services; physical and occupational therapy; chaplaincy; social services; and comprehensive behavioral health services, including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and drug and alcohol detoxification.
