Health Sciences America, LLC (HSA) is a small, independent
clinical research company that does grant-based medical research
and also offers local site services to Fortune 500 pharmaceutical
companies, biotechnology companies, and national contract research
organizations. The company's co-founders, serve respectively as
medical director, operations director, and clinical director. Dr.
Marsella is a physician by training and a board-certified
psychiatrist who received his B.A. at Harvard, his M.D. at the
University of Pennsylvania, and his residency training in
psychiatry at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Mr.
Castronova and Ms. Quinn both have backgrounds in clinical research
coordination. In addition to its other missions HSA is a medical
research network furnishing study-procural, patient-recruitment,
site-management, and research administrative services for its
participating practices in south Florida. HSA serves as a site for
Phase II, III, and IV multicenter, nationwide clinical trials, and
also authors and implements its own grant-based medical research
studies. Our areas of expertise include child and adult
psychopharmacology, neurology, epilepsy medicine, pain-management,
and rheumatology. While we are a for-profit partnership we maintain
a commitment to non-profit medical support groups and devote
considerable resources both to community support organizations and
to medically-oriented foundation work in nearby academic centers
like Florida Atlantic University and the University of Miami.
