DeGarmo Institute of Medical Research was originally founded as The Family Practice Research in 1996 and is located in Greer, South Carolina, one of the State’s fastest growing areas. It is staffed by a Medical Director, a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator, 4 Clinical Research Coordinators and a Clinical Research Assistant. The facility has 1500 square feet of dedicated research space housed within a private practice setting.DeGarmo Institute of Medical Research conducts outpatient clinical trials in Phase II, III, and IV. We provide a highly qualified and experienced staff dedicated to the success of clinical trials with consistency, accuracy, compliance, compassion, and confidentiality.

DeGarmo Institute of Medical Research is located on the Eastside
of Greenville in the Upstate of South Carolina. Housed within a
private family physician’s practice, we have access to a 10,000
patient database with various ethnicities and age groups from
pediatrics to geriatrics.

Ronald G. DeGarmo, DO - Medical Director and Principal
Investigator , has participated in over 200 clinical trials since 1993. He is board certified in Family Medicine, with a specialty in Osteopathic Medicine.
Joseph S. Carey, LPN, CCRC - Director of Research Studies, has been coordinating clinical trials in multi-therapeutic areas since 1997. He is certified with ACRP. He is GCP/ICH trained, and Haz Mat certified.
Pam Klein, LPN - Administrative Director, is a full time Clinical Research Coordinator coordinating clinical trials in multi-therapeutic areas. She is GCP/ICH trained and Haz Mat certified.
Sonya McMillan - is a Clinical Research Coordinator coordinating clinical trials in multi-therapeutic areas. She is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. She is GCP/ICH trained and Haz Mat certified.
Jacob DeGarmo - is a graduate from Clemson University with BS in Health Science. He is a full time Clinical Research Assistant.His responsibilities include EDC entry, Laboratory Collection and processing, and obtaining ECGs. He is GCP/ICH trained, and Haz Mat certified.
Misty Johnson, LPN, CRC - is a full time Clinical Research Coordinator coordinating clinical trials in multi- therapeutic areas since 2008. She is GCP/ICH trained and Haz Mat certified.
DeGarmo Institute of Medical Research utilizes central IRBs for
the conduction of clinical trials. We are known for our rapid
regulatory and contractual document turn around time.
