Center Overview

Broward Health Medical Center is the Regional Referral facility of the Broward Health system [formerly known as the North Broward Hospital District] (5th largest not-for-profit hospital district in the country) with two dedicated in-house Cardiovascular and Cancer (Adult and Children's) research teams. Our Cardiac & Cancer research nurses work with Board Certified Cardiologists & Internal Medicine physicians as well as Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologists. Broward Health Medical Center offers full-service Cardiac and Cancer treatment.

The Cardiovascular Research team has worked with sponsors, such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Organon, Merck, Reliant, Proctor & Gamble, Otsuka, Eli Lilly, Covalent, deCode Genetics, NitroMed, Gilead, Sanofi-aventis, Roche, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Amarin and Abbott. We have conducted ACS/IVUS trials, CAD, CHF, DVT, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension and Electrophysiology as well as many other related areas.

Broward Health Medical Center’s Adult Cancer research program is affiliated with H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. The Children's & Adult Cancer research teams work with both sponsored trials and cooperative groups, such as Children's Oncology Group (COG), Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), GSK, Amgen, Sanofi-aventis, Wyeth, Abbott, Amgen & Imclone.
