Our facility is a full-service, independent, private-practice currently made up of four board certified Urologists. We offer both surgical and non-surgical treatment options, using the latest technology and clinical techniques to offer the most comprehensive Urology program in the area.
Combined, our physicians offer over 50 years of experience in the field. Our site offers the capability of performing in-office TRUS, cystoscopy, uroflow, ECG, Urodynamics and X-Ray & Lab facilities.
We are located in Missoula, the second largest population center in Montana and we serve a large geographic area. We are conveniently located a few miles from Saint Patrick Hospital, which includes a major cardiology clinical research site. Our office is 5 minutes from Missoula International Airport and 5 blocks off US Interstate 90; we are along bus routes, walking trails, are five blocks from downtown and 3 miles from the University of Montana Campus.
We've recently expanded our facilities in order to accommodate the growth of our Research Department; now including expanded on-site storage, expanded patient treatment rooms, and private space for study monitors with private telephone and internet connectivity.
All physicians in our practice have served in both the Primary Investigator and Sub-Investigator role.
Karl R. Westenfelder, MD has participated in clinical trials as a sub-investigator (since 1999) and lead investigator (2004).
Garrick R. Simmons, MD has participated in clinical trials as a sub-investigator (since 2001) and lead investigator (2004).
Kevin M. Kronner, MD has participated in clinical trials as a sub-investigator (since 2007) and lead investigator (2008).
Our research facility employs two research coordinators Paula Cambridge, RN CCRC. Paula Cambridge has been with the practice since 2010 and has been a lead study coordinator for 10 years. Our research assistant is Michelle Eichenlaub. She has been with the practice since 2007. She also serves as a back-up coordinator and the regulatory document contact.
Five Valleys Urology provides services from our main location in Missoula. Patients come from as far away as 5 hours to receive treatment. Our population draw is approximately 135,000 and we have over 15,000 active patient records. Our population is diverse in age and gender, although we see a majority of male patients, over the age of 50. We are located near the Confederated Salish & Kootenai tribal reservation and have a proud history of providing care to Native American patients. While our main clinic is located in a town of over 65,000, many of our patients reside in rural settings.
Typically we use a central IRB. If no central lab is available, we contract full laboratory services through Saint Patrick Hospital, located a few miles from our clinic.
