After graduating from South Oak Cliff High School, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1964 from Abilene Christian University. He then attended University of North Texas where he earned a Masters Degree and a Ph.D. in Microbiology.
After graduating from UNT in 1970, Dr. Strzinek participated in post-doctoral research as a National Research Council Post-Doctoral Fellowship recipient at NASA Manned Space Craft Center in Houston, Texas.
Following his tenure at NASA, Dr. Strzinek served as Director of Research and Development at Helena Laboratories while teaching biochemistry at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. It was during this time that Dr. Strzinek made the commitment to become a physician and began his medical training at the University of North Texas - Health Science Center of Fort Worth. Dr. Strzinek completed his internship at the DFW Medical Center in 1979.
Today, Dr. Strzinek is a board certified family practice physician and has practiced medicine in the mid-cities area since 1979. The doctor is a Christian and cares deeply about the welfare of his patients. His hobbies include golf and spending time with family and friends.
