SCORE Physician Alliance is comprised of a network of private-practice physicians from various medical offices who perform clinical research trials.

SCORE's Medical Director, Jeffrey A. Hirschfield M.D. has a wealth of experience providing complete oversight in the ethical conduct of research involving human participants, patient privacy and confidentiality, informed consent practices, data and safety monitoring, and continuous regulatory reviews.

SCORE has delegated standard operating procedures for our sites and research personnel to ensure the highest standards of quality in the conduct of our clinical trials.

Facility Description

Each physician office provides outpatient medical services in a private practice setting. Each office provides for large examination rooms, comfortable monitoring rooms with internet and email access, CLIA or COLA-accredited laboratories. Emergency preparedness equipment and standard operating procedures in the event of an emergency situation. All offices have nearby hospitals and emergency room services within a 2-mile radius. Affiliate offices are located in Southern Pinellas County, FL within a 20-30 minute drive from Tampa International Airport.

Staff Expertise

Each office has its own highly qualified research staff. SCORE’s research affiliates are highly educated in good clinical practices (GCP) and patient confidentiality. All study coordinators are highly trained in patient education, laboratory draws, specimen processing and shipping including up to date IATA certifications.

Jeffrey A. Hirschfield M.D., SCORE’s Medical Director, has served as a Principal Investigator in over 50 pediatric and adult clinical trial programs. He is a private practice Board-Certified PediatricIan in Saint Petersburg, FL. Dr. Hirschfield is the founder of SCORE Physician Alliance and he provides comprehensive oversight for SCORE’s clinical trials. He has built a reputation of providing the highest quality managed clinical research in the marketplace. Dr. Hirschfield currently serves on the Novartis expert advisory panel for vaccine development. In addition, Dr. Hirschfield has been recently nominated for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

Patient Demographics

Recruitment for our various clinical trials is derived primarily from private practices within Score’s physician network. Electronic databases at each site are able to stratify prospective patients by demographics, diagnosis type, etc. utilizing standard medical billing software.

Other Information

All research sites are able to utilize Central IRB's.
